BANGKOK, Thailand (CAP) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has ratcheted up her rhetoric in the face of growing criticism, vowing to perform a striptease for her nation's people if protesters back down from calls for her resignation.
"I have two very good reason why I should remain in office and I promise will show you both if you are good little boys," Yingluck said in a televised news conference. "But first you give me some peace, and then I will give you a piece."
Supporters gathered in the streets of the capital to cheer Yingluck's announcement, waving washcloths like flags and chanting that they are "behind [her] all the way."
However, critics accuse Yingluck of drawing attention away from the country's real issues by focusing on her lack of tan lines and legs that just won't quit in a plaid school girl mini skirt.
"This is Thailand - we invite people to come to our country for sex for cryings out loud," said one protester. "She need to step up her game and offer massage or somesing! Then maybe we get excited.
"But right now, we just small and uninterested," he added.
Despite similar sentiments from other protesters, many demonstrators have turned the tables and replaced calls for Yingluck's resignation with calls for her to drop trou. They indicate they "want to see the goods" before deciding whether to continue or halt protests.
"If I like what that I see, I will stop protest here and go home and protest in a sock," said one demonstrator outside a government building. "If not, then I will protest until someone sexier get in office!"
Meanwhile, Yingluck's exiled brother, former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, told CAP News he wishes he had thought of this years ago, that perhaps he could have saved his regime had he paraded his nude sister around.
