WASHINGTON (CAP) - This week the US Postal Service honored the one-year anniversary of the death of legendary entrepreneur Steve Jobs by releasing a new line of commemorative stamps featuring images of the iconic Apple CEO.
Fans spent hours waiting in line outside post offices nationwide to purchase the highly-anticipated stamps on the day they were released. However, many were disgruntled to discover that the new postage could only be used with proprietary envelopes that had been specifically designed for use with Steve Jobs stamps.
Reaction to the stamps' highly-anticipated Maps feature, which was designed to improve on the Post Office's own navigational methods, has also been mixed.
Overall, though, customer response has been positive.
"No complaints here," Boston resident Emily Jennings told CAP News. "I love how sleek and user-friendly my new Apple stamps are. It was totally worth it buying all new envelopes, and special pens for writing on those envelopes."
"I can't wait until the release of Stamps 2 next year, either!" added Jennings. "I've heard they will forever change the way we think about mailing things."
